Pop-up, Rapid Antigen Testing

The university is partnering with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to provide free, pop-up, rapid antigen testing on campus in anticipation of additional testing needs for holiday travel. Antigen testing will be available on campus for select dates during November and December. Antigen testing does not meet CDC requirements of PCR testing for international travel. At-home COVID testing available to Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti residents

A new initiative open to U-M community members and their households residing in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti areas is providing free, rapid COVID-19 test kits to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keep the community healthy.

The Say Yes! COVID Test At-Home Testing Challenge is recommended for unvaccinated individuals 8 years or older. Choose up to two members of your household to take part and test them two times a week for a month or until all tests are used. Individuals with the highest risk of exposure to the COVID-19 are the best choice.

Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti residents can order testing kits online at for home delivery. Test kits will also be available for pickup locally at the following locations:

  • Washtenaw County Health Department- 555 Towner St, Ypsilanti, MI, 48198 during COVID-19 walk-in vaccination clinics. These hours are currently Tues-Fri from 9-11:30am and 1-3:30pm.

The Say Yes! COVID Test initiative is a cooperative effort from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), community partners, test manufacturer Quidel, and healthcare technology company CareEvolution.

Report Your Positive Test Result

If you tested positive for COVID-19 through testing outside of the University of Michigan, report your positive test result here. Documentation of your test result is required and can be uploaded through this process. The survey results can take 2 to 3 days to be pushed to ResponsiBLUE. At that time, the app will give you a green completed mandatory test status.
